A PASSION FOR WOOD

Lauzon Hardwood is the realization of the vision that David Lauzon had as a young man, in 1985, walking through the woods of Quebec’s Outaouais region, between Montreal and Ottawa.

From a small initial investment of a few thousand dollars, we have grown a family-run company, deeply rooted in the Canadian forest, that has become a leader in supplying homeowners, builders, designers, architects, and wood specialists with premium hardwood products.

Our team of 500 passionate and dedicated people run our vertically integrated operations, from forest to finished products. We sustainably manage millions of hectares of thriving Canadian forest, we operate the largest hardwood sawmill in North America, we make renowned premium hardwood floors, we manufacture high-energy wood pellets, and we supply prime raw material to the furniture industry.

GREEN IS THE FUTURE

We are people of the forest. At our founding, we made it our mission to manage the forest sustainably and protect the environment. This is why we have responsible and sustainable stewardship practices throughout our operation, and apply a strict zero-waste policy, from the forest to the finished product.

Our commitment to a clean and sustainable environment also extends to the finishes we apply on our floors which are eco-friendly and exempt of formaldehyde, VOCs, and solvents. Choosing a Lauzon floor is making a choice for future generations.

At Lauzon, green is not just a color, it is a core value.

From Forest to Floor

Through our fully integrated operation, we have built a business that is at the forefront of sustainable forest management and stewardship. Full integration begins with the forest lots that we manage and continues in our sawmill, and in our hardwood finishing plants.

Sustainably Managed Forests

When you choose a Lauzon floor you can take comfort in knowing that our policies are designed to protect the forest for generations to come. Whether Canadian or imported, we only choose wood sourced from sustainably managed forests.

As a testimony to the environment and the well-being of our forest, we have developed a zero-waste program by recycling all wood residues to produce wood pellets, the cleanest form of energy. Our commitment also extends to the finishes we apply on our floors which are eco-friendly and exempt of formaldehyde, VOCs, and solvents.

Choosing a MAISON by Lauzon floor, it is choosing to help preserve our natural resources for future generations. As all our floors come from sustainably managed forest, are legally sourced and comply with the US Lacey Act.
